Battle of Spokane Plains

On September 5 near present day Airway Heights, the Indians regroup to defend their territory. They resist the intruding Army and engage in a running battle in open country lasting most of the day. They were able to harry Wright’s command, but they could not rout the troops.

This print is a part of the Steptoe battle series by Nona Hengen, and the battles that happened with the Native Americans.
