Logging Camp
A few horses did survived the Changeover to tractors. A farmer who hated to part with his faithful horses looked for situations where there might still be work for them to do and a few found that work in logging camps. Sadly, the majority –millions of horses countrywide–were sold for slaughter—euphemistically called the fox farms.
